Preparing for Workshop on the Aesthetics of Resistance 2

Just when I have recovered a bit after the workshop Symbolic Politics of Non-Representation in Contemporary Cultures of Dissent which I co-hosted and which cost me a few sleep-depraved nights, another presentation is waiting. In a few weeks’ time, I’ll head to Florence to share my thoughts on the aesthetics of (contemporary) resistance during an international workshop with just that title.

The programme seems promising, and it’s a great opportunity to widen my research by talking with some art historians, curators and other people who focus on the aesthetics of today’s protests, not so much their politico-social meaning. Let’s see how this works out. As usual business resumes as well (Post-Doc responsibilities and a thousand other tiny things), I see some more “white nights” ahead.
