Conferencing, again

It took me until 5 June to get started this year, but finally I was back at giving a presentation at a conference. I realised that in 2023 it did not present anything anywhere, a rare feat seen before only in the pandemic year 2020. Apart from that, I’ve always been out and about at least once since 2010.

This conference was at the German Federal Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF, for its German name) in Berlin, and was quite low-key. As I’m working in a project funded by the BMBF, they organised an update-conference, where loads of funded projects presented their progress with talks and posters (my colleagues and me also made one which explains our project and can be found here). The whole thing was quite relaxed, my talk was greeted with a few constructive remarks by colleagues of other funded projects, and we all ate well.

I guess the most important outcome of the whole thing is that during the preparation for the conference, we developed a logo for our project (every project seems to have one nowadays, so why don’t we?), which I like quite a lot. The logo, seen above this post, incorporates both the project’s abrreviations and the common visual marker for searching (a search bar), which chimes in with the project’s topic of how higher education research searches for its relevancy.
