In 2023 I participated at a conference on what might be translated as ‘reflection of sciences’ or ‘self-reflexive sciences’ at the Leopoldina. And wrote a review about that conference.

Afterwards I realised that the conference’s organisers had already published a book on that topic, which included many of the speakers I’ve heard at the event. Interesting, I thought, usually it’s the other way around: You hold a conference and then compile the more or less original thoughts presented there into a book. Thus I reviewed the book as well and found at least one or two major faults with it.
